Ojai, CA -- The only two Cypress College women's tennis players to qualify for the Ojai State Championship, Jessica Cornea and Melissa Gahungu, were eliminated in the second round of the prestigious tournament. 

Cornea qualified to play in singles and faced off in the first round against Glendale and won, 6-2, 5-7, 6-2.  In the second round she played College of the Desert and lost, 6-2, 6-3.

In doubles competition Cornea, who qualified with Gahungu as her partner won their opening round match with Fresno, 7-5, 6-4. With the win they advanced to the second round to face Santa Monica and lost, 6-3, 6-3. 

The Chargers women's tennis season has now come to a close with both second round losses.
