Lady Chargers Swim & Dive Finish Strong at Mt. SAC Invitational

WALNUT, CA - The Lady Chargers finished 10th overall at the 2018 Mt. SAC Swimming and Diving Invitational, totaling 156 points over the 3-day event, which included 20 participating schools. 

The Chargers were led by an outstanding performance from defending CCCAA State Champion diver, Alejandra Gomez, who finished in 1st on the 3-meter board and 3rd on the 1-meter board, racking up 36 points for her team. 

Freshman Jordyn Morris scored an astounding 58 points, showing strong State Championship ambition early, in the sprint freestyle events, just missing 1st place in the 50-yard freestyle by nine-tenths of a second.  Team Captain Kayleen Bretz led the way in the distance events, placing 3rd in the 1650-yard freestyle and 5th in 500-yard freestyle.  Bretz is now setting her sights on surpassing her 2017 record-setting season. 

The Cypress College swim and dive team will begin Orange Empire Conference competition at Saddleback College on Friday, March 2nd at 10:00 a.m.
