Freshman Alejandra Gomez has earned Charger of the Week (Apr. 10-16) after winning the Southern California 1-meter and 3-meter Diving Championships. As a result, she was also the Orange Empire Conference Champion on the 1-meter and 3-meter boards and was named the OEC Diver of the Year.

Gomez broke the El Camino Community College pool record for the 3-meter diving board with 277.7 points and she broke the Cypress College record for 3-meter diving that she had set earlier in the season. Gomez now holds both the 3-meter and 1-meter diving records and she is now setting her sights on becoming the CCCAA champion.

Gomez is the first member of the diving team to receive Charger of the Week this year.
