Lady Chargers Finish 2nd at OEC Tournament

Fullerton, CA - The Lady Chargers swim & dive team wrapped up their second Orange Empire Conference tournament of the season with a 2nd place finish on Friday, tying Orange Coast College with a total of 465 points.

Leading the Chargers was sophomore Esther Kim who place 1st in the 100-yard breaststroke event holding off Suzanna Gonzales (Golden West) by four-one-hundredths of a second. Freshman Arial Burns showed off her strength in the butterfly events, finishing 2nd in the 100-yard butterfly and 3rd in the 200-yard butterfly shattering the Cypress College record.

Distance swimmer Casey Burke was not to be out done by her teammates, Burke finished 2nd in the 500-yard freestyle and 3rd in the 1650-yard freestyle events. Diver Leigh Hodgson helped the Chargers by placing 2nd on the 3-meter board and 3rd on the 1-meter board.

Next on the schedule is the Pasadena Invitational on April 8-9 at Pasadena City College.
