Lady Chargers Break Records at Mt. Sac Invitational

Walnut, CA – The Lady Chargers swim and dive team wrapped up the Mt. San Antonio College Invitational with the highest team finish in recent history; 3rd place (17 participating teams).

Highlighting the Chargers was freshman Ariel Burns who annihilated the competition with a 1st place finishes in the 50-yard backstroke and 50-yard butterfly.  Teammate Leigh Hodgson dove her way to two first place finishes as well, sweeping the Mt. SAC dive events.

Two record breaking swims by sophomore swimmers Clarissa Juarez and Esther Kim helped propel the Chargers.  Juarez broke the Cypress College swim team record in the 200-yard backstroke, besting the time by six seconds. Kim broke the record for the 400-yard individual medley by a mere 0.31 seconds.

The Charger Aquatic team is now gearing up for their travel meet to the Cuesta College Invitational on March 11-12.
