RIVERSIDE, Calif. ---  Aimee Espey led the Lady Chargers once again this past weekend in the OEC Championships in Riverside, Calif.  Espey touched the wall fourth out of 15 swimmers in the 50 Yard Freestyle and finished her best event of the weekend with an impressive time of 24.90.  Espey also finished eighth out of 16 competitors in the 100 Yard Freestyle, (55.03).

Esther Kim finished sixth out of 16 swimmers in the 50 yard Breaststroke, grabbing 13 points for the Lady Chargers.  Kim also placed seventh out of 16 in the 50 Yard Butterfly with a respectable time of 28.75.

Sadie Bryan closed out the weekend with a seventh place finish out of 13 swimmers in the 1650 Yard Freestyle.  Bryan's time (19:52.96) was impressive enough to earn 12 points for the Chargers and defeat six other OEC swimmers.

Quynh Hoang and Nicole Wheeler each scored 11 points for the Chargers and combined for 22 points towards the 119 individual point total over the weekend.

Despite finishing sixth, the Lady Chargers almost defeated Fullerton College and managed to defeat Santa Ana by 112 points in the individual events.

News on who will be competing in the State Championships is set to be released later this evening.  The State Championships are set to take place in East L.A. and will begin on Thursday, May 1, 2014.
