East Los Angeles College, Monterey Park, CA - On Day One at the Sate Championships, the Chargers were called on two events: the Women's 200 Free Relay and e Women's 50 Free. In the Relay teamed by Jacelyn Youngerman, Sara Kennedy, Nicole Wheeler and Kelsey Kendall, the Chargers clocked a time of 1:40.61 in the prelims which placed them 6th and qualified for the Finals (top 8 times advanced to Finals.) in the Finals the team rallied for 1:40.40 which was 0.21 second faster and finished 6th overall in the State standing for this event.

Youngerman clocked the best time in the prelims of the 50 free at 23.62 out of 23 swimmers. In the Finals, Youngerman finished with 23.69 and a first place finish, state champion in that event. Youngerman is on deck to compete in the 100 and 200 Free in the following days at the State. She will also compete in the 400 Free Relay with Kendall, Joanna Zapien and Kennedy; and the 200 Medley Relay with Zapien, Kennedy and Kendall.
