Lady Chargers Split in NorCal Road Trip

Lady Chargers Split in NorCal Road Trip

LOS ALTOS HILLS, CA – The Cypress College women's soccer team (2-2-1) split on their two-game road trip to Northern California this past weekend.

The Lady Chargers got off to an impressive start, knocking off Foothill College 4-0 in Friday's game. Four different Cypress freshman, including Taleah Carter, Rebecca DiDonato, Morgan Patea, and Audree Campos, netted goals to lead Cypress past the Owls. Patea led the way for the Chargers, accounting for five individual points, with her goal and three assists.

However, with a young team coming off back-to-back wins, Cypress would come up short in Sunday's matchup with Evergreen Valley College, 1-2. Freshman forward Nicolle Valdez found the back of the net to open up the scoring for Cypress in the 34th minute. The Chargers defense was unable to contain the Hawks in the second half, giving up a goal in the 63rd and 83rd to minute.

Women's soccer will return to action in their Orange Empire Conference opener at Norco College on Tuesday. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
