Chargers Take Down Grossmont and Citrus, Advance to Tournament Championship

El Cajon, CA- The Chargers kicked off the 32nd Annual Grossmont Holiday Classic with back-to-back wins to begin the tournament. The Lady Chargers (9-3) defeated Grossmont (0-12) 77-52 on Tuesday and Citrus 68-37 last night to punch their ticket to the championship game.

Women's basketball has been dominant in December winning three of their four games by 25 points or more. They sit atop the OEC in pre-conference play standings, while leading the conference in free throw percentage as well as three-point percentage.

Last season Cypress faced off against LA Trade-Tech in the semi-finals of the Grossmont Holiday Classic. The Chargers were defeated in that game and will look for their revenge in the championship this year. The game will tip off at 3:00pm Thursday at Grossmont College.

Up Next: The Lady Chargers will have one more non-conference matchup on the road against Mira Costa, January 4th. Cypress will return home January 8th when they host Riverside at 5:00pm to begin OEC play.
