Sophomore women's basketball standout Gabrielle Carbajal was awarded her first Charger of the Week this season during Friday's practice. Carbajal helped lead the Chargers to back-to-back victories during the week of Jan. 22-28.
Carbajal began the week with a 19-point performance on 50% shooting to help defeat Santa Ana, 74-59, on Wednesday. She followed up that performance with 7 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals in a 90-28 victory over Copper Mountain College, which was the largest margin of victory for the Lady Chargers since 1994.
The Rancho Alamitos alumna currently leads the team, averaging 17 points and 3.5 assists per game this season.
