Mesa Receives Charger of The Week (Nov. 16-22)

Monique Mesa put on a show Friday, November 20 against El Camino to win her first Charger of The Week Award (Nov. 16-22). This marks the second consecutive week a member of the women's basketball team has won the award.

The freshman forward was excellent on both sides of the court, scoring 13 points, grabbing 7 rebounds, and swiping 2 steals. She was fairly efficient, making a season-high 6-13 field goals to finish the game with a 46.2% field goal percentage. She led the Chargers extremely balanced attack with in only 19 minutes off the bench.

The Cantwell Sacred Heart of Mary alumna was known for being a solid two-way player, averaging 8.7 PPG, 8.4 RPG, 2.4 SPG, and 1.1 BPG in her senior year. Her performance in high school has translated well at Cypress where she currently averages 10.6 PPG, 5.0 RPG, and 2 SPG this season.
