Kansas Wesleyan Bound

CYPRESS, Calif. ---  Cypress College Athletics is proud to announce that both Elizabeth Lyon and Breanna Patton from the Cypress College women's basketball program signed on to play basketball for Kansas Wesleyan University next year.

Elizabeth Lyon and Breanna Patton both leave Cypress College after being part of the team for two successful seasons under head coach, Margaret Mohr.

Lyon competed in seven games for the Lady Chargers in the 2012-13 season before getting injured.  Prior to her injury, Lyon played an important role and helped lead the Chargers to a 5-2 start.

Patton averaged 8 points and 5 rebounds a game for Cypress College this past season and played in all 31 games for the Lady Chargers.

Patton scored a career high 18 points on 8 of 17 shooting in a big win over Antelope Valley College on November 17, 2013.  Patton also shot 46.5% from the field overall throughout the 2013-14 season.

"I'm so excited for Beth and Bree as they continue their academic and athletic careers at Kansas Wesleyan," said head coach Margaret Mohr.

"They will contribute a lot to the university just like they did here at Cypress.  Today is another great day to be a Charger!"

Kansas Wesleyan University competes in the NAIA level and is located in Salina, Kansas.
