CYPRESS, Calif. --- Katey Kanamoto from the Women's Basketball program has been named the February 16- February 23, 2014 "Charger Athlete of the Week."
Kanamoto scored a season high 19 points against Santa Ana on February 21, which also happened to be "Sophomore Night" for the Lady Chargers.
Katey went 3-5 from behind the three point line and 8-10 from the free throw line in the contest. Her impressive performance helped lift the Chargers to a 96-68 victory over the Santa Ana Dons in their last game of the regular season.
Kanamoto's performance also took place in front of a near record crowd of 850 people on "Legends of Hoops Night."
Kanamoto is currently averaging 6.4 PPG for the Lady Chargers and is also shooting a very respectable 43% from three point range in conference play.
