SANTA ANA, Calif. --- The Chargers scored 51 points in the second half to come back and defeat Santa Ana by a score of 84-66 on Wednesday night.

After committing 14 turnovers and struggling on the defensive glass, Cypress shook off their sloppy first half and came back playing their usual style of ball.

Haley Gorman scored 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Chargers while Denshay Wallace followed right behind her in scoring with 17 points of her own.

Lauren Hong scored 14 points on the night and made 9 of 10 from the free throw line for the Lady Chargers.

Both Breanna Patton and Ashley Juarez scored nine points a piece to round out the top scorers for Cypress.  Juarez hit 3 huge three point baskets down the stretch to give the Chargers some breathing room.  Cypress never looked back after those three point baskets and eventually continued on to their 18 point victory.

Katey Kanamoto had a season high 12 rebounds in the contest and dominated the defensive glass for the Chargers.

The Charger victory puts them at 14-9 overall with a 5-1 conference record.  Both Cypress and Saddleback are currently tied for first place in the OEC.

The Lady Chargers will come home and host the Irvine Valley Lasers on Friday night, January 31st.  Tip off is set for 5:30 PM.
