LANCASTER, Calif. --- The Cypress Chargers took one out of three games this weekend at the Antelope Valley Tournament. 

Haley Gorman and Lauren Hong each scored 17 points for the Chargers in their (71-81) loss vs. LA Pierce on Thursday night.  Breanna Patton also had an impressive game against LA Pierce.  Patton recorded a double double for Cypress, recording 11 points and 11 rebounds.

The Lady Chargers faced Barstow College in the Friday matchup and ended up winning (72-63) after being down by two points at the half.  

Every Charger who touched the floor on Friday night vs. Barstow scored and contributed to the impressive (72-63) victory.

Gorman continued to have a solid tournament performance and ended up grabbing nine rebounds and scoring 18 points in the contest. 

Ruby Nichols ended up being the second leading scorer on the night.  Nichols scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds off the bench.

Unfortunately, Cypress let go of an eight point lead at half and lost to Glendale (63-70) in the Consolation Championship game on Saturday evening.  

Gorman went 8 for 16 and scored 18 points while Breanna Patton scored 12 points of her own. Katey Kanamoto was third in scoring for the Chargers with 10 points.

Cypress travels to Grossmont on December 28 where they will face Redwoods in game one of the Grossmont Holiday Classic.
