Down to the Wire

CYPRESS, Calif. ---  The Chargers took second place in the 30th annual Lady Charger Classic after their 67-69 loss against East LA on Sunday evening.

With 15 minutes left in regulation, East LA was able to go on a quick run and erase a 10 point halftime deficit. 

East LA eventually found themselves leading Cypress by a score of 69-67 with just seven seconds on the clock.  The Chargers were forced to take a tough shot and missed the final look of the game.

Denshay Wallace led the Chargers once again with 24 points while Lauren Hong followed right behind her with 10 points of her own.

Haley Gorman added nine points to the Chargers score and also grabbed eight boards in her solid performance.  Breanna Patton also had a respectable game, grabbing eight rebounds and scoring eight points for the Chargers. 

Denshay Wallace and Haley Gorman both earned All-Tournament Team honors for Cypress in their second place finish.

Dioseline Lopez from East LA was named the Tournament MVP.

Cypress will travel to face Canyons in their next game on December 13.
