San Jacinto, Calif. --- After defeating Cerritos (70-62) in the first game of the San Jacinto Tip-Off Tournament, the Cypress Chargers lost a high scoring shootout to Chaffey College (80-89) and finished off the Tournament by defeating Antelope Valley by a score of (74-69) in the third and final game of the weekend.
Despite losing the second game of the tournament, Haley Gorman dropped 28 points and Denshay Wallace followed right behind her with 27 of her own. Gorman also added 17 rebounds to her impressive stat line in the 80-89 loss vs. Chaffey.
After going (1-1) in the first two games, the lady Chargers turned it around and won their third and final game yesterday when they defeated Antelope Valley, (74-69). Denshay Wallace recorded 20 points and 13 rebounds for Cypress, leading her team with a double-double. Breanna Patton followed right behind Wallace with a respectable 18 points of her own.
The Chargers finished third out of eight teams and went (2-1) over the weekend. Haley Gorman earned All-Tournament honors averaging 20 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks per game throughout the tournament.
The Chargers continue their season on Thursday, Nov. 21st, against Foothill at the Merced Tournament.
