Chargers Run Past Gauchos, 8-0

Cypress, CA- Cypress College softball (8-0, 3-0 OEC) stays undefeated and notched another win on Friday afternoon. Cypress hosted Saddleback (9-4, 1-2 OEC) at Charger Field and won the game in six innings, 8-0.

The Charger of the Week, Janea Brannen, got the game started on the rubber with a 1-2-3 first inning. Brannen set the tone early in the game and got the Chargers in a groove. Jordan Thompson led off the bottom half of the first inning with a triple to left field, and scored the first run of the game on a wild pitch. The sophmore pitcher, Brannen, continued to mow down the opposition and threw a six inning shutout. Third baseman, Maddie Bogdanovich doubled to score Makenna Otoole in the 5th inning to begin a barrage of runs. The Chargers would end the game on a sacrafice fly by Janea Brannen to score Faith Davalos and win the game 8-0 in six innings.  

Up Next: The undefeated Chargers will host Santa Ana next Tuesday. First pitch will be at 2:30PM.
