Cypress College softball standout, Lesley Bojorquez, earned her first career Charger of the Week Award at practice on Thursday. She is the second softball player to receive the award this season.
Bojorquez has been getting the job done for the Lady Chargers all season, leading the team with 40 hits and a .435 AVG. In addition, the Warren High School alumna has only one error on the season in 29 starts at shortstop.
During the week of March 25-31, Bojorquez hit for .538 AVG with 2 RBI in 13 at-bats. She helped lead the Chargers to a perfect 4-0 week, defeating Santa Ana, Golden West, Citrus, and No. 2 Mt. SAC.
The Chargers are currently ranked No. 3 in the state, according to the March 18th 3CFCA Coaches Poll, but should move up when the new rankings are released, after knocking off the No. 2 Mounties.
