Sophomore softball standouts Hailey Hoffman and Sydney McCollum received Co-Charger of the Week Awards after Tuesday's practice. It is the first Co-Charger of Week of the season, and first Co-Charger of the Week for members of the same team during the award's five-year history.

Hoffman (W, 12-1) tossed the first perfect game of her two-year career, while notching three strikeouts, in six innings of work for the Chargers as they knocked off Bakersfield College in the CCCAA Super Regionals on Saturday.

McCollum carried Cypress' offense, going 4-for-4 at the plate with three RBI in game two of the series against Bakersfield. The back-to-back OEC Player of the Year notched one single, two doubles, and a solo HR to left field against one of the state's best arms. The Marina High School alumna went 2-for-4 in game one.

Cypress softball will continue defending their 2017 State Title, as they advance to the 2018 CCCAA State Championship Tournament beginning Thursday, May 17 at Mt. San Antonio College.
