The Chargers got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning. Okazaki led off the inning with a double and Jenny Vazquez (1-for-4, RBI) brought her home on a base hit down the right field line to give the Chargers a 1-0 advantage. The Bulldogs would even the game at 1 run apiece in the top of the second inning on a sacrifice fly by Bailey Killough. The Chargers responded with a run of their own on an RBI single by McCollum in the bottom half of the inning to make it 2-1. The Bulldogs fought back as they evened the score at 2-2 in the top of the fourth inning on an RBI single by Larissa Ostrander.

The Chargers offense continued to pound out hits as they struck for 5 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Nicole Wise (1-for-3) tripled to lead off the inning.
