CYPRESS, CA – #1 Cypress College softball (37-5, 21-0) will host #4 Palomar College (35-5), #5 Cerritos College (30-12), and #10 Fullerton College (24-18) in the Super Regional this weekend as the Chargers look to return to the State Tournament for the 24th time in 29 seasons.
The Chargers swept through #16 Long Beach in the SoCal Regional last weekend with a 4-2 comeback win followed by a 12-0 (5 innings) victory. Cypress will take on district rival Fullerton in game one of the four-team double-elimination Super Regional. The Chargers swept Fullerton during the regular season but the Hornets kept two of the three games within two runs.
Fullerton pulled off the upset over #7 El Camino in the SoCal Regional (2-1), while Cerritos and Palomar each swept through their lower seeded opponents.
Cypress is scheduled to take on Fullerton in game one on Friday, May 13th at 1:00pm. Cerritos and Palomar will face off in game two on Friday at 3:00pm.
