Softball Season Wrap-up

The Cypress College softball team's amazing season came to an end on Saturday night in the CCCAA State Championship Tournament Semi-Final against San Mateo. The Chargers had three players selected to the State Championship All-Tournament Team; freshman C Jezz Portillo, freshman 3B Tobi Salzman, and sophomore 1B/P Alejandra Guillen.

The Chargers finish the season with a 38-10 overall record, which is the programs highest win total since the 2010 season. Cypress was able to control most games with tremendous pitching from Taylor Pierce (20-5), Taylor Ebner (10-3), and Alejandra Guillen (7-2). The Chargers had their ups and downs hitting this season but still finished with seven players batting over .350, led by Alejandra Guillen (.438).  All-American, Taylor Pierce led the team in home runs (12), RBI (47), and SLG (.704). Two-time OEC first team selection, Khailey Campos led the team in runs scored with 53.
