The Cypress College softball team will head into the CCCAA super regional tournament as the second highest seed this weekend (May 8-10). The Chargers side of the Southern CA bracket includes #2 Allan Hancock, #3 Cypress, #9 Santiago, and #10 Santa Ana. Three of the four teams are from the Orange Empire Conference, excluding the host team Allan Hancock. The tournament will be double elimination with the winners of each bracket advancing to the State Championship tournament at Bakersfield College.
The Chargers won the season series with Santiago Canyon 3-0 and Santa Ana 2-1 on their way to becoming Orange Empire Conference Champions. However, Cypress came up short against Allan Hancock during their only match-up of the season 1-0. Cypress will take on Santiago Canyon in their opener on Friday, May 8 at 4:00pm.
