Softball Coach Brad Pickler Reaches 1,200th Career Win!

Cypress Calif.- Coach Brad Pickler has already solidified himself as one of the best junior college softball coaches of all time. In his 28 seasons as head coach of the Cypress College softball team, he has amassed an astounding 1,200 wins. Coach Pickler's 1,200th win came at home on Wednesday, March 18 in a 9-1 victory over Orange Coast College. When asked about the importance of winning Pickler said, "Of course winning is important. We've tried to establish a winning program since I've been here. Winning isn't everything but it makes the game more fun for everybody."

Coach Pickler's accolades include 8 state championships (CA record), 19 conference championships, 23 state finals appearances, and 15 Conference Coach of the Year awards. Perhaps Coach Pickler's greatest accomplishment is seeing 79 of his former players move on to play at four year universities. "We've remained consistent over the years because of the talent we get," Pickler said. "It's difficult because there are so many good programs recruiting the same players. With the talent we recruit, once they choose to come here and play, making them want to win isn't too difficult." The consistency of Coach Pickler and the program can be seen by the number of championships and a nearly .800 win percentage over his 28 seasons.  The Chargers softball team again currently sits atop the OEC and is looking to do big things this season. The future continues to look bright for Coach Brad Pickler and the Cypress Chargers!
