Chargers Win 8th in a Row
Cypress Calif.- The Cypress College softball team (15-3, 6-1 OEC) won its eighth game in a row this Sunday after defeating Bakersfield (7-4) 10-2. 
The Chargers got on the board first in the bottom of the third inning when Taylor Pierce hit her sixth home run of the season, giving Cypress a 3-0 lead. Cypress would score another two runs in the bottom of the fifth and five more runs in the bottom of the sixth. Bakersfield got two runs of their own in the top of the sixth inning but it wasn't enough to get the win. The Chargers defeated Bakersfield in six innings with a final score of 10-2, making this the eighth straight win for Cypress this season. Alejandra Guillen led the Chargers with three hits in three at bats, including three runs scored. Taylor Pierce chipped in with two hits, one homer, two runs scored, and four RBI to go along with receiving her first save of the season from the mound. 
Cypress will go on the road next to face Fullerton (11-6, 4-3 OEC) on Wednesday, March 11 at 3:00 pm.
