Cypress Defeats Citrus With Walk-Off Double 3-2

Cypress Calif.- The Cypress Chargers softball team (10-3, 4-1 OEC) got the win at home on Tuesday afternoon over the visiting Citrus Owls (7-4).

The Chargers got on the board first with a run in the bottom of the second inning, followed by a run from Citrus in the top of the fourth to tie the game 1-1. Justice Walker helped Cypress regain the lead with an RBI single to left field, which scored Taylor Pierce and gave the Chargers a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning.  Citrus was able to rally back and tie the game in the top of the seventh with an RBI triple by Kalei Guillermo. However, Cypress came back to win the game with another walk-off in the bottom of the seventh. This time it was Alejandra Guillen who was able to come through in the clutch for the Chargers and allow Tobi Salzman to score the game winning run. Right fielder Justice Walker led the Chargers with two hits and two RBI on the day.

The Chargers will resume OEC play on Wednesday, March 4 when they visit Saddleback (9-1, 4-0 OEC).
