CYPRESS, Calif. ---  The 2014 season came to an end for the Lady Chargers after the Mt. San Antonio College Mounties defeated them on Sunday afternoon by a score of 4-0 in the final game of the Super Regionals.

Both teams were held scoreless in the first two and a half innings until Mt. San Antonio College drove in three runs in the bottom of the third inning to take the 3-0 advantage.

Despite being down 0-4 heading into the sixth inning, the Chargers continued to fight hard and prove their heart.  Cypress had an opportunity to gain some runs but unfortunately left Khailey Campos on third, Gabby Juarez on second and Mylee Macahilig on first to end the inning.

The Chargers then went three and out shortly after in the top of the seventh inning when Mt. San Antonio College caught an impressive foul ball just past the first base line for the final out of the contest.

Campos and Macahilig were the only two Chargers that recorded hits today considering Sabrina Garcia (19-3) pitched lights out throughout the entire game for Mt. San Antonio.

Mt. San Antonio will now advance to compete in the State Championships at Bakersfield College next weekend.
