Chargers beat Saddleback in regular season home finale 6-5

Cypress, CA - The Sophomores knew that this was the last time they were with their teammates in this familiar surrounding of a place called "home." Indeed for them it was two years of playing at the most successful level in California Community College Softball. Those Sophomores won a championship together here in 2012 and appeared to head into the same direction. The Enthusiasthic Chargers scored six runs in the bottom of the third, a feast that they had done many times during the season. With a 6-0 lead going into the top of the 6th, Coach Brad Pickler made several substitutions to allow all of his players to take the field in the last regular season game at home, including Alyssia Palomino to relieve Stephanie Luhmann who struck out seven batters. the Gauchos decided to make their move, scoring two runs and shook up Palomino. Luhmann was called to relieve Palomino and got roughed up three more runs (one was earned) on four hits and a walk. Luhmann finally calm down and struck out Carillo and forced Abounassar to popped up a fly to end the inning.  In the top of the seventh, the Gauchose came out threatening again, Olesky and Duquette started off with back to back singles, advanced to 2B and 3B on Cayton's sac bunt. Luhmann playing with poise like she did all season, struck out the last two batters to clinch the win for the Chargers (31-5, 17-3.)
