Arthur Lawrence was awarded his first Charger of the Week (March 21-27) after an inspired performance at the Orange Empire Conference Tournament at Golden West College. The sophomore diver played a key role in helping Cypress (233 total points) edge out Fullerton (165 points) and Santa Ana (60 points) at the meet.
The day before the meet, Lawrence faced a personal tragedy when his mother passed away on March 24. Despite the loss, the Mayfair High School alumnus stuck with the team on and scored 30 total points from the 1M and 3M dive competition.
Arthur Lawrence has been one of the finest divers in the program this year. The faculty members of Cypress Athletics express their condolences to the Lawrence family.
