Chargers Leave Golden West Scoreless, 4-0

CYPRESS, CA- The Cypress men's soccer team (5-3-3, 2-1 OEC) defeat the Golden West Rustlers (5-3-4, 1-2-1 OEC) 4-0 at home on Friday afternoon.

Cypress men's soccer scored four second half goals to post a 4-0 win over the Golden West Rustlers. 

The Chargers had three opportunities to score early in the first half before the Rustlers attempted their first shot on goal. Both teams competed aggressively as neither team scored in the first half. 

In the second half, Cypress adjusted their lineup and within the first ten minutes, Raymond Ramirez scored back-to-back goals, 2-0. The Chargers found their rhythm and continued to push the ball up the field. Then, Braulio Morales scored the penalty kick that put the Chargers in a 3-0 lead by the 65th minute. Cypress kept the lead and the offensive pressure throughout the remainder of the game as Julio Perez dribbled past the keeper and scored the final goal for the Chargers, 4-0.

UP NEXT: The Chargers will continue conference-play at Santa Ana College on Tuesday, October 11th. Match starts at 3:00PM.
