CYPRESS, CA - The Cypress College men's soccer team (6-0) took care of business against Imperial Valley (0-5) at Ray Haas Field on Friday afternoon, 1-0. The men's soccer team keeps the streak alive with a flawless start to their season under new head coach, Cristian Rus.

The Chargers came out firing, finding the back of the net on the first and only goal of the afternoon, just 1:45 into the game. Freshman midfielder, Nicholas Gulewich, scored his second goal on the season on a Lorenzo La Violette assist.

The Chargers dominated the ball for a majority of the game with a strong defensive presence, but had a hard time finishing on offense. Cypress put out 25 shots throughout the game and were able to shut out Imperial's three attempts. Imperial Valley's goalie, Ernesto Pereda, had 10 saves in the game, including a clutch penalty kick save keeping Cypress close.

The men's soccer team will be back in action at home against Palomar at 3:00PM Tuesday, September 20th.
