CYPRESS, CA - The Cypress College men's soccer team (4-8-2, 1-4-2) tied Santiago Canyon College (3-5-4, 1-3-3) 0-0 at home on Tuesday.

The first half began with both teams on the attack. However, there were no good scoring opportunities for either team in the opening stages of the first half. Santiago had the first chance of the game, but the ball was headed just wide of the far post. The Chargers responded with more possession of the ball and were able to generate a late chance, but Cypress midfielder Eduardo Chavez couldn't hit the target and the game remained scoreless at halftime.
The second half began with both teams coming out aggressive as they searched for the opening goal. The Chargers were able to control possession in the second half and generate some good scoring opportunities. The Chargers best chance came in the sixtieth minute when defender Hawe Yonas fired a shot from the top of the box. The shot was saved and the rebound fell to midfielder Arturo Reynoso, but hit off the hands of Hawks keeper Ocean Wong. Chargers forward Christian Supancic pounced on the rebound, but Wong was able to recover and notch a third save. Cypress would have a couple of other late opportunities, but they would fail to convert them as the game finished 0-0.
Men's soccer will return to action at Fullerton College on Tuesday, October 18 at 3:00pm.
