CYPRESS, CA - The Cypress College men's soccer team (3-5, 0-2) lost to Golden West College (5-0-3, 1-0-1) 4-1 at home on Tuesday.

The first half was uneventful as neither team had many chances. The best opportunity came on a shot from Chargers midfielder Eduardo Chavez, but he struck the crossbar.

The second half began with a quick goal from Golden West to make it 1-0. The Charges were then called for hand ball in the box which allowed Golden West's Anthony Saldana to convert the penalty kick and give the Rustlers a 2-0 lead. Cypress had a couple opportunities to get back in the game but were unable to find the back of the net. Cypress did receive a penalty kick of their own and sophomore captain Hawe Yonas converted it to make it 2-1. Following the penalty kick Golden West scored two late goals to win the game 4-1.

Men's soccer will return to action at Irvine Valley on Friday, September 23 at 3:00pm.
