Dana Bedard is one of the most well rounded coaches on staff at Cypress College. Bedard is entering his 21st season as head coach of the Cypress College men’s golf team, while also working as a full time professor and athletic academic counselor.

During his tenure at Cypress College, he has coached three individual State Champions (David Min, 2008 | Scott Sexton, 2009 | Dylan Hall, 2017) and one Southern California Regional Champion (Mike Rim, 2004). Coach Bedard has led the Chargers to the CCCAA Southern California Regional Championships each of the last three seasons dating back to 2017. In 2019, Cypress golf won the OEC championship, placed 3rd in the State Championship, and Coach Bedard earned OEC Coach of the Year. After the Chagrers finished as the runner up in the State Championship in 2017, Coach Bedard captured the first men's golf State Championship in Cypress College history. He led the Chargers to a Third Place State Title in 2010 and placed second in the 2008 Southern California Regional Championships.

Bedard’s coaching career stretches beyond golf. He was also the head baseball coach at Oxford Academy in Cypress for ten years, earning back-to-back CIF Championships in 2009 and 2010, eight berths to the CIF playoffs and seven Academy League championships from 2000-2010.

Before his coaching career, Bedard played basketball at UC San Diego from 1978-81. He still holds records for his basketball efforts at Los Alamitos High School where he once scored 40 points in a single game and 526 total points during the 1976-77 season. After earning his bachelor's from UC San Diego, Bedard went on to earn his master’s degree at Long Beach State.
