EL CAJON, CA- Cypress College men's golf has secured first place in their last three tournaments. Their most recent victory came Wednesday afternoon when they finished the Cuyamaca Classic with a team score of 369.
The Chargers entered a competitive battle at Singing Hills Golf Resort at Syucan when they edged out the competiton by two strokes to claim the crown. Freshman star, Luke Bartram, led Cypress with another tournament leading performance. The England native shot a tournament best, 71, to secure his third victory on the short season. Bartram has won the individual title in three of the four tournaments that Cypress has participated in this season. Bartram's lone second place finish came on a victory by teammate, Matthew Wotherspoon, who edged him out by one stroke last week at the Eagle Golf Classic. Wotherspoon had himself another solid day at the Cuyamaca Classic where he shot a 73, the third lowest score of all participants on the day.
