Cypress Grabs Another 1st Place Finish at Eagle Classic

Cypress, CA- The Cypress College men's golf team took part in the Eagle Classic one day tournament on Wednesday. The Chargers took home First Place as a team, and Matthew Wotherspoon shot a tournament best, 70.

The Chargers came out victorious on Wednesday after a great showing by all six Cypress participants. The team finished with a final score of 367. This is the second consecutive tournament that Cypress ran away with and won the tournament by 8 or more strokes. Reedley college finished in second place with a score of 375, followed by Mt. SAC who scored 378. The Chargers had three players shoot 72 and under as they controlled the tournament. Sophomore, Matthew Wotherspoon edged out the victory for 1st place with a fantastic round of 70. Three others including Cypress, Luke Bartram, tied for second medalist with a score of 71. 

Up Next: Cypress will be back in action next Wednesday, February 19th, when they take part in the Cuyamaca Classic at  Sycuan G.R. Tee-off will be at 8:30AM.
