Whittier, CA- The Cypress College men's golf team teed off their second tournament of the year at Candlewood Country Club. They took home first place with a team score of 374.
Freshman Luke Bartram shot a tournament best 69, one under par on the par 70 course. Bartram got his day started with a chip in birdie from the bunker on the second hole. The Chargers continued consistent play, as their top 5 finishers all shot under 80. Cypress had a commanding lead as they beat second place finisher Mt. SAC, by a ten stroke margin. Matthew Wotherspoon of Cypress had the second lowest score shooting an impressive 72.
Mt. SAC (384) and Riverside (385) battled for second place, as James Johnson of Mt. SAC shot a 72, and pushed the Mounties ahead to claim 2nd place.
