Chargers Golf Moves Into Tie for First Atop OEC

INDUSTRY, CA - The Cypress College men's golf team moved back into a tie for first place in the Orange Empire Conference standings after winning this week's match on the Babe course at Industry Hills on Wednesday.

Despite beautiful conditions, individual scores this week soared compared to last week's totals while playing the Costa Mesa Country Club Los Lagos course.  Not a single round posted under par this week after 12 players came in under par last week.  Cypress posted a team score of 379 at Industry Hills to get past Orange Coast College (388) and climb back into a tie with Mt. San Antonio College (390) with 28 conference wins this season.  The Chargers posted five scores in the mid-70s, paced by Tommy Chung at 74 and Panos Pantazopolous at 75.

The final match of the regular season will take place on the Arroyo Trabuco Golf Course in Mission Viejo on Monday (April 15).  The conference championship will take place two weeks later (April 29) at Royal Vista Golf Club in Walnut.
