Sophomore men's golf standout Matthew Rafter was awarded his second career Charger of the Week Award following Thursday's practice. It is his first COTW of the 2018 season.

Rafter helped lead the Chargers to a second place finish in the Southern California Preview at Bakersfield Country Club and a first place finish in last Wednesday's Orange Empire Conference match at Candlewood Country Club.

The Whittier Christian High School alumnus shot a 2-under-par 70 at Bakersfield, one of only three players in the red, before finishing as the medalist with a 1-under-par 69 at Candlewood.

Rafter is currently the OEC co-leader, along with fellow Charger Ying-Shih Chang, averaging a 74.5 per 12-holes in conference action. Men's golf will resume action on Monday, March 19 at Industry Hills Golf Course.
