Chino Hills, CA – The Cypress College men's golf team opened up their season with a second place finish at Los Serranos (4-1) on day one of the OEC Tee-Off Classic.
Freshman Alec Montalbo led the way for the Chargers on an extremely windy day at the Par 74-South course. "It was a grind, there were 30MPH winds all day…the first nine holes made for some of the most difficult golf I've ever played", said Montalbo. He finished the day +3, only three strokes from the leader, "As long as I take care of everything in my control I think I have a chance to win on Wednesday", he said.
Men's golf will resume play at the Los Serranos North Course on Wednesday at 10am.
