Golf Wraps Up Competition at OEC Tee-Off Classic

Chino Hills – The Cypress men's golf team wrapped up competition at the OEC Tee-Off Classic, held at the Los Serranos Golf Course, with a 3-7 record against conference schools and seventh overall.

 

On day one of the Classic, the Chargers shot a 388, which was fifth out of the six competing OEC schools. On the Par 72 North Course, Conner Whitcomb led the way for the Chargers shooting one under (71). James Kim shot three over (75), while Brandon Menyes (78) and Luca Yi (79) rounded out the golfers shooting in the 70s.

 

On day two, the Chargers faced the Par 74 South Course and saw much improvement with their top three golfers. Whitcomb, Menyes and Kim each shot two over par (76) to lead the team, which scored 400 overall to finish fourth out of the six OEC teams. Cypress also finished better than all but two competing teams (Desert, Palomar) from the Pacific Coast Conference on day two.

 

The team will next head to the Mt. San Jacinto Classic on February 18th as the season continues.
