CYPRESS, CA - At the annual post-conference men's basketball coaches meeting, the OEC coaches selected the First and Second All-Orange Empire Conference Teams. Cypress freshman Sebastian Castro was selected to First Team All-OEC.
Freshman guard, Sebastian Castro, was the most consistent scorer for the Charger's this season. The Garden Grove alum averaged 13.5 points per game on 45% shooting from the field. Castro shot over 32% from the three point line to go along with 4 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. The guard exploded for 30 points in the last game of the season to push the Chargers into the playoffs. Castro knocked down seven three pointers while shooting 65% on the night.
Cypress men's basketball has earned the #19 seed in the Southern California Regional. They finished the year with a record of (16-12, 7-9 OEC) to earn fifth place in the OEC. The Charger's will travel to San Bernardino Wednesday, February 26, to play in the first round of the playoffs.
