Chargers knock off Golden West, 71-40

Cypress, CA- Men's basketball defeats Golden West 71-40 in a strong offensive performance by the Chargers. Their record stretches to (12-8, 3-5 OEC) and the Rustlers fall to (3-17, OEC 2-7).

Cypress controlled the game from the tip starting the game with a 9-0 run. Sebastian Castro got into the paint early and often. He led the team with 12 points in the first half on 6-10 shooting. His effort helped give Cypress a 13-point lead heading into halftime. The Chargers kept their foot on the gas and at one point got out to a 35-point lead. Cypress had the opportunity to clear the bench and coast to a strong team win 71-40. We saw an improvement in shooting for Cypress knocking down 11 of their 15 attempts from the free throw line and shooting 44% from the field.

Up Next: The Chargers will be back at Don Johnson Friday. They will host Saddleback and tipoff will be at 7PM.
