Chargers' Hot Shooting Stuns Olympians, 82-60

CYPRESS, CA – The Cypress College men's basketball team (3-0) defeated the visiting San Diego Mesa Olympians (1-3) in Gym II on Thursday night, 82-60. The victory wraps up a perfect three-game home stand to begin the season.

The Chargers shot lights out, draining 14-of-34 from long range, while shooting over 49-percent from the field. Sophomore Aaron Edison led all scorers with a game-high 25 points on 9-of-12 shooting, including seven three pointers. Demetri Mariolis added 15 points, while Kae'jon Barnes chipped in with 11 points and 7 rebounds.

Following a slow start, the Chargers got hot down the first half stretch to take a 43-29 lead into halftime, capped off by a long three at the buzzer from Edison.

Cypress continued to attack on offense and force turnovers on defense to extend their lead in the second half.

The Chargers will return to action on Friday, November 22 as they open the Home Motors Tournament at Hancock College against Santa Barbara at 3:00pm.
