Nolan Kelly Receives Charger of The Week (Dec. 7-13)

Nolan Kelly received Charger of the Week (Dec. 7-13) after a stellar performance in a 76-69 victory over LA Harbor in the Don Johnson Classic Championship game on December 12th. The sophomore guard stepped up at a crucial moment and scored 19 points to go with one steal and a block.

The LA Harbor Seahawks gave Cypress problems with their athleticism, holding the Chargers to 29-percent shooting and outscoring them 37-24 in the first half. Kelly hit some key shots to keep the Chargers in the game, including 3 three-pointers and an electric alley-oop dunk for a total of 11 first half points.

With the team down 58-49, Kelly played a key role in his team's 22-5 run, hitting a three-pointer to cut the Chargers' once-enormous deficit to two.  After the Chargers took a 63-61 lead, Kelly prevented LA Harbor from finding their momentum by making back-to-back shots followed by a huge block to seal the Cypress victory.

The Corona High School alumnus is averaging 11.8 PPG and 3.7 RPG this season and leads the team in average minutes played at 30.5 MPG.
