Men’s Basketball Drops Season Opener at El Camino, 80-69
Torrance – The Cypress men's basketball team (0-1) dropped its season opener at El Camino (1-0) on Friday evening, 80-69, in new Head Coach Andrew Alhadeff's debut at the helm of the program.

Jordan Fleck led the team in scoring with 13, while Zachary Perez chipped in 11. Jeremy Wright led the team in rebounds with six and Nolan Kelly tallied three steals.

Cypress went into the halftime break trailing 33-25 after some cold shooting hindered its scoring. In the second half, buckets started to fall as the Chargers would take a nine-point lead with 13 minutes to play. El Camino would come back, retake the lead and continue to hold on until the end of the game as Cypress struggled with making baskets and committing fouls.

Overall, the Chargers shot just 31% from the field and 24% from the three-point line. The team struggled from the charity strip, making just 22-of-35 in the game.

The Chargers will next play at West LA on Monday, Nov. 10 at 5:00 pm.
