Cypress, CA. -- David Gonzalez caps off a stellar sophomore season at Cypress College by being selected to the All-Orange Empire Conference 1st team this week.
Gonzalez appeared in 27 games for the Chargers this year. He scored over 20 points per game in 15 games this year. He had four games that he scored 30 or more points in. Against Grossmont on December 30, 2013 he scored 50 points, which set a new Cypress College record. The previous record was at 43 points. In that game he also set another Cypress record for most 3-pointers in a game at 12.
He finished the 2013-14 season tied with Tyrone Branyan (1975-76) for first place in Cypress College history in single season scoring average at 21.4 points/game.
