CYPRESS, Calif. --- David Gonzalez of the Cypress Men's Basketball Team has been named the November 5-12, "Charger Athlete of the Week". Gonzalez averaged 25 points in his three games during the Don Johnson Classic last weekend earning All-Tournament Honors and helping his team to a 2-1 finish.
Gonzalez put on a shooting clinic for the Chargers, going 15 for 29 from behind the arc throughout the Don Johnson Classic. The 51% 3pt shooting percentage throughout the tournament helped lead the Chargers to a second place finish. Gonzalez also shot 14 for 17 from the free throw line in the three games played and shot 53% overall from the field. Gonzalez efficiency over the opening three games marked one of the most incredible back-to-back-to-back performances in Cypress College Men's Basketball history.
