Cypress Baseball Travels to Mt. SAC for Round 1 of CCCAA Regionals

WALNUT, CA- The #11 Cypress Chargers (21-19) will be on the road for round one of the regional playoffs as they take on #6 Mt. San Antonio (32-8). The Mounties will host a best of three series beginning on Friday, May 6th at 1pm. Games two and three (if necessary) will be played on Saturday in double-header fashion beginning at 12pm. 

In past history, Cypress has been very successful against Mt. SAC sporting a 14-2 overall record, while winning three of the four games in last year's series. The Chargers lead the entire CCCAA in home runs (50) while Mt. San Antonio ranked third in hits (505). The Mounties have had a more consistent pitching staff as they have finished the regular season with a 4.41 ERA. Left handed pitcher, Michael Flores, is the ace for Mt. SAC as he has thrown 75.1 innings with 61 strikeouts. Flores' earned run average (2.99) is second on the team to Trent Merrill (2.61) who has been dominant out of the bullpen. The Mounties bats are led by Brent Cota who slashes a .430 average along with a .564 slugging percentage. First basemen, Christian Enriquez, leads the team in home runs with 6.
